As a wise man once said, "Good health doesn't cost, it pays."

In these times of apparently "free" medical care, paying for treatment might seem strange. But, if you think about your last visit to the medical doctor, it was only the examination which was covered by the provincial health plan. The treatment, if it was a prescription, was paid for by you, or your private health plan.

Chiropractic Care

Alberta Health covers $14.00 per visit up to a maximum of $200.00 per year (July 1 to June 30). Patients are responsible to pay $20.00 per visit until their Alberta Heath coverage is exhausted, after which each treatment costs $34.00. Receipts are issued for submission to secondary health benefits.

GREAT NEWS FOR ALBERTANS! As of July 1, 2005, regulation changes have allowed secondary insurance to cover the patient's portion of chiropractic fees beginning with the first service instead of waiting until the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan annual benefit is exhausted.

Many of the other services offered at Downtown Integrative Health Group, such as naturopathy, registered massage therapy, acupuncture and custom-made orthotics are also covered by most insurance companies. Patients should check their individual benefit policy for details.

If you have suffered an injury in an automobile accident after October 1, 2004 your care may be part of the NEW Alberta Automobile Insurance Reforms.

If you have been injured in an accident at work, we are an authorized WCB provider and can look after all the necessary reporting and billing.
